Veneers are thin facing of porcelain which is bonded to tooth surfaces to improve shape and colour. They are much less invasive than traditional crowns allowing preservation of natural tooth structure while improving aesthetics and alignment. In some cases they can be an alternative to lengthy orthodontic treatment (braces) and can permanently whiten teeth simultaneously
They are a minimally invasive way to improve appearance as only 0.5 – 1mm of tooth is removed to make room for the veneer or in some cases no removal of tooth structure is required at all. They are used to change the appearance of chipped, rough or uneven teeth and spacing.
Generally having veneers involve three appointments; discussion and treatment planning, preparation and cementation (generally 1-2 weeks later). All veneers are locally made at our dental laboratory in Dulwich and have warranties on the materials used.
